Fortnite v15.40 is expected to release on Tuesday, February 16. Here’s what to expect in the update.

The rumor mill is swirling when it comes to Fortnite v15.40. Some players, who report having some inside knowledge, have called the contents of v15.40, “The most amazing thing ever.”

We don’t know exactly what this means, but we have a couple of ideas. Here’s everything you need to know about the update before the patch notes land on February 16.

Bug Fixes

Bug fixes are a natural part of any Fortnite update. We only have a few issues set to be fixed in v15.40, which may not be the primary focus of the update.

One item we don’t see listed relates to the superhero skin set. In v15.30, Epic attempted to remove the ability for players to use all-black and all-white superhero skins. Fans quickly found a workaround, however, which led to Epic removing the skins from competitive modes.

Here are all of the items listed as “Fixed in next game update” on the Fortnite Community Issues Trello Board.

  • Total Bars appearing as 0 in a match.
  • Purple XP Coins disappearing when driven through (without granting XP).
  • Matchmaking doesn’t start if unreadied player leaves early.
  • (Creative) Phone Booths do not respect island settings when players change Outfits.
  • (STW) Locating a Durrr Burger not counting towards the “Locating: Burger Break!” Ventures quest.
  • (STW) Mythic Lead Survivor portraits appear only as silhouettes.

“The most amazing thing ever”

On February 14, data miner ShiinaBR tweeted that a Japanese content creator, urara_123urara, said that v15.40 was going to be a “real mess” and “the most amazing thing ever.”

We don’t know how this creator would know what the v15.40 update has in store for the game, but this led to massive speculation within the community. What could be an amazing addition and a mess at the same time? We have no real idea.

With the Season 5 FNCS underway, it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to completely change the meta of the game. If Epic did make a large shift, it wouldn’t be the first time we saw a mid-tournament Fortnite update.

If anything huge does come to Fortnite, we expect it to be excluded from competitive modes for the rest of the season.

The v15.40 update will apparently be released on Tuesday, according to @urara_123urara, a well-known Japanese content creator.

They also described the update as a “real mess” & “the most amazing thing ever”.. 🤔

Weapon/vehicle mods

Normally, we’d assume that these leaked features would be held until Fortnite Season 6. With rumors of this being a massive update, however, we’re starting to think that we may see weapon and vehicle mods sooner rather than later.

Earlier this year, data miners found files that related to weapon and vehicle mods coming to Fortnite in the future. These would be huge for the game, which is why a lot of fans assumed that Epic would hold off until Season 6.

With rumors swirling about v15.40, though, these mods are the only major leaks that came to mind. We’ll have to see what happens when v15.40 releases.

Some more info about this, thanks to @FunGamesLeaks for the help:

– You can add the mod & drop it anytime, its planned to be an item

– Weapons have specific valid mods that work with them (based on this function “PrintValidWeaponMods”)

– Weapons have multiple mod slots https://t.co/SPuyjeZj5B

Again, we have no idea if weapon and vehicle mods are coming to Fortnite in v15.40. Common sense dictates that these will be Season 6 features, and we’re only including them because of the speculation surrounding the impact that v15.40 will have on the game.

Whatever happens, we’ll be here to cover the changes, fixes, patch notes, and everything else when the new Fortnite update goes live. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @FortniteINTEL so you never miss out on the latest Fortnite news.

Mando Bounty LTM Fortnite

Epic Games have rolled out their v15.30 update for Fortnite, adding three new exotic weapons to the battle royale as well as a new LTM, and a whole host of new cosmetics.

One thing that has always set Fortnite apart from it’s battle royale rivals are the regular updates that Epic Games roll out. They’ve slowed a bit since the move to Fortnite Chapter 2, but the updates are still welcomed.

On February 2nd, the devs rolled out another decently sized update, adding further to the Hunter’s theme has encapsulated Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 5.

That includes three new weapons, a Mando’s Bounty LTM, as well as a decent number of bug fixes too. So, without any further ado, let’s get into the changes.

New weapons: Burst Quad Launcher, Frozen & Chug Cannon

Keeping with the growing number of exotic weapons in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 3, Epic Games have added three new weapons – the Burst Quad Launcher, Frozen SMG & Chug Cannon.

Starting with the latter there, as the name suggests, the Chug Cannon works like the Bandage Bazooka where teammates can be healed by the weapon.

The Frozen and Burst Quad Launcher are heavy hitters though. The pair of them will deal some nice damage, 35 and 42 respectively, while the Frozen has an alright reload time of just a shade over two seconds.

Mando’s Bounty LTM

The Mandalorian has also recieved some love in this update. Sadly, the previously rumored cosmetics have not been released, but he has got his own limited-time mode.

“The best hunter in the galaxy wants to prove himself—against you. Challenge other players to see who can score credits the fastest,” the description reads. Take out bounty targets for extra credits and eliminate specially-marked hunters for high-tier loot.

“When the Mandalorian enters the match, he will hunt down the player with the most credits. You can get to the top but can you stay there?”

Fortnite v15.30 bug fixes

Finally, the bug fixes. These can be found on Epic’s Trello board before the update goes live, so we can always get a sense of whats being fixed.

This update has a decent amount of changes for each mode for battle royale, Save the World, and Creative – including the return OG Bear vehicles.

Here is the full list of bug fixes coming in v15.30:

General

  • Difficulty editing Banner with a controller.
  • Long loading screen after completing a session on PlayStation/Xbox.
  • The Child Back Bling blocking vision when players aim down sights.
  • Jumpshot Outfit missing its facial hair.
  • Sound effect audio delay.

Battle Royale

  • Matchmaking doesn’t start if an unreadied player leaves early.
  • Receiving damage mid-air when falling inside a car.
  • OG Bear vehicle temporarily booted.
  • Zero Point healing effect temporarily disabled.
  • Game freezing when going to the Compete tab on PlayStation/Xbox.

Creative Mode

  • Prop holograms become invisible in certain situations for Xbox Creators.
  • “Devices” and “Prefabs” tabs swapped when viewing the Creative Inventory.

Save the World

  • Locating a Durrr Burger not counting towards the “Locating: Burger Break!” Ventures quest.
  • Eliminating Takers not counting towards the “Eliminate: They Came from the Mist” Ventures quest.

Mobile Top Issues

  • Motion Axis setting stuck on “Roll” on Nintendo Switch.
  • RT/LT Triggers on Xbox Elite controller on Android.

Fortnite Beskar Steel at The Shark

Fortnite players expect to see the Fortnite v15.30 this week. Here’s what we know about the next major Fortnite patch.

Fortnite Season 5 is one of the longer seasons in recent memory. Unlike some other lengthy seasons, however, we’ve seen a lot of updates come to the game.

Players are expecting another one this week, and v15.30 is next in line. There also seems to be a strong incentive for Epic to release this patch, as they are reportedly changing a skin that players are calling “pay to win.”

Here’s what we expect to see in the v15.30 patch notes when the update goes live.

Bug Fixes

We have a long list of bug fixes coming in the next Fortnite update, from adjusting cosmetics to adjusting some of the biggest issues in the game.

Here’s what you can expect to be fixed in Fortnite v15.30:

  • Sound effect audio delay.
  • Jumpshot Outfit missing its facial hair.
  • The Child Back Bling blocking vision when players aim down sights.
  • Long loading screen after completing a session on PlayStation/Xbox.
  • Game freezing when going to the Compete tab on PlayStation/Xbox.
  • OG Bear vehicle temporarily booted.
  • Receiving damage mid-air when falling inside a car.
  • (Creative)“Devices” and “Prefabs” tabs are swapped when viewing the Creative Inventory.

The Superhero Skin Changes

Fortnite players have long been complaining about the “pay-to-win” nature of customizable superhero skins in Fortnite.

For those who don’t know, it’s incredibly difficult to see superhero skins with black-on-black variations – especially with shadows enabled which is the only available setting on console.

After months of complaints on social media, Epic have announced that they are going to change the skins. Starting in v15.30, players will no longer be able to use all-white or all-black superhero skins.

Weapon and Vehicle Mods?

Recent leaks have pointed to the fact that Epic are working on vehicle and weapon mods for future Fortnite update. These changes could come in v15.30, but we don’t expect them to.

It’s worth mentioning that these changes could come in any Fortnite update, but the smart money is on the idea that they won’t be here until Season 6.

We expect Epic to remove exotic items and for the new weapon mod system to take its place. Of course, only time will tell.

Apparently Epic isn’t working on weapons mods/attachments only, there will also be cars attachments such as new tiers that have different behaviors for Dirt, Grass & Road & hard to get popped, also other car attachments like Mounted Guns.. Will update you later if there’s more!

— HYPEX (@HYPEX) January 25, 2021

We’ll keep you posted when we learn more about the release date of v15.30. Fortnite updates usually come on Tuesday, but we could be seeing a Wednesday or Thursday release.

According to Fortnite data miners, there are a lot of updates in the “staging” servers, which means there will be several patches before the March 15 Season 6 release date. Stay tuned for more.

Fortnite predator

Today’s Fortnite v15.21 update has shaken things up again in the battle royale game, adding Predator and a brand new Mythic Item to the mix.

The game has been subject to weekly updates for a long time now, meaning content is given a slight refresh some weeks, and on others things can change a bit more dramatically.

On January 20, after the latest patch was rolled out, it’s fair to say that not a lot of things have been tweaked.

In the absence of official patch notes, which have been vaulted since before Chapter 2 even began, we’ve rounded up the changes confirmed already by players and leaks.

Fortnite v15.21 patch notes

Predator

Predator is the latest crossover character to arrive in Fortnite, now available to fight at the Stealthy Stronghold location. The skin is also coming to the Fortnite Item Shop, along with some cosmetics – such as a pickaxe.

New Mythic Item: Predator Cloak Device

One of the biggest, and most exciting, elements of Predator’s arrival is the new Mythic Item it adds to the game. The Predator Cloak Device is now active in-game, and once it’s been found and activated, players can use it to turn invisible.

To get one, check out our complete guide here. It’s fairly easy to achieve.

New Quests

More Quests have been added to the Battle Pass for Season 5, following the v15.21 update.

Bug fixes and other changes

According to the official Fortnite Trello board, a number of things have changed – including general issues and things specifically impacting the BR mode.

General Top Issues

  • When playing Fortnite, players cannot create system-level parties that include players on both PS5 and PS4.
  • The Jumpshot Outfit is missing its facial hair.
  • The Banner menu may be unresponsive to controller inputs, causing players to have difficulty editing their Banner with a controller or the Banner not updating properly.
  • We’re investigating an issue that is causing players to experience a long loading screen after completing a session on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
  • The sound effect of certain actions, such as opening a Chest or hitting a Weak Point, may be delayed.

Battle Royale

  • In competitive playlists, players do not have access to their persistent stash of Bars. Instead, they are granted a set amount at the beginning of each match. This is intended. However, your end total of Bars in competitive playlists may appear in the Lobby in place of your persistent stash. This is a visual issue only.
  • The weekly Legendary Quest to ‘Get Headshots’ is not always visible after completing the first stage of the quest.
  • Players may receive damage mid-air when falling inside a car.
  • Players and Spectators may notice inconsistent camera behavior or stuttering after being near a Car they recently drove then exited.
  • Total Bars appearing as 0 in a match.
  • Assets appearing invisible in Performance Mode alpha.
  • Game freezing when going to the Compete tab on PlayStation/Xbox.
  • Sand Tunneling temporarily disabled.

As is the case every week with these unofficial patch notes, it’s an ever changing beast. If we find something that’s changed and not been included here in the Fortnite v15.21 patch notes, we’ll update you as quickly as we can.

Until then, jump in and see for yourself! Remember to thank the bus driver…
