Fortnite players can earn free cosmetics by inviting some of their friends back to the game.
Fortnite Season 5 might be the best season of Chapter 2, improving the already great groundwork laid by Season 4. Players are flocking back to the game, and Epic are encouraging them to tell their friends about the experience.
The developer announced the beginning of the Reboot a Friend promotion, starting on December 14.
This promotion gives players a chance to earn a free wrap, pickaxe, emoticon, and music pack for playing Fortnite with friends who haven’t played in a while.
The promotion only applies to players who haven’t been on Fortnite for at least 30 days. If one of your friends skipped Season 4, then now’s a great time to bring them back.
The rewards are based on how many games you play with your friend, so make sure you’re doing well. The tiers break down like this:
- 1 Match: Reboot Emoticon
- 5 Matches: Key Change Lobby Track
- 10 Matches: Twin Talons Pickaxe
- 20 Matches: Holofoil Wrap
The promotion will run until January 4, and we don’t expect this to be the last we see of Reboot a Friend. Based on Epic’s phrasing of the event, they’ll be adding something like this to each Fortnite season.

Fortnite crossovers keep coming – this time, with the announcement of a Fortnite X Walking Dead collaboration in Season 5.

The Mandalorian is far from the only crossover character in Fortnite Season 5. Last night at the Game Awards, Epic announced an upcoming Fortnite X Walking Dead collaboration.
Fortnite Season 5 is only a week old, but Epic have already added some new characters from fan-favorite franchises. Kratos from God of War and Master Chief from Halo have already entered the game, with even more “hunters” rumored to be coming soon.
While fans speculate about a potential Predator crossover, Epic gave us a teaser for a different collaboration at the Game Awards, last night.
Everyone was expecting to see Master Chief enter Fortnite but was surprised when Agent Jonesy landed in the Walking Dead universe – scooping up Daryl Dixon and Michonne.
We already have a date for these skins as well. They’ll be in the Item Shop in less than a week on December 16.

The real question is: Who will be next? Predator is a safe bet, but there are doubtlessly other characters that fans haven’t even thought about coming to Fortnite before the end of Season 5.
Just when we thought that Epic were slowing down the crossovers in Season 5, we get three new collaborations in the first week. It’s going to be an interesting one.
Kratos from God of War and Master Chief from Halo will be coming to Fortnite Season 5, according to leaks.

Fortnite Season 5 is only a day old, but players are already looking to the future. According to leaks and rumors, Epic are planning future God of War and Halo crossovers.
Epic Games has to be the undisputed king of video game crossovers at this point. Fortnite has hosted crossovers with Star Wars, Marvel, Stranger Things, Borderlands, and several other entertainment and gaming titles.
Season 5 was released with a small crossover in The Mandalorian, but nothing close to the Season 4 Marvel crossover, as some fans expected.
According to Season 5 leaks, however, players will be experiencing additional crossovers sooner rather than later. Data miners leaked a Kratos skin – the main character in God of War – soon after the season went live. The official PlayStation account then posted an audio transmission from Fortnite, seemingly confirming the future crossover.
Sony isn’t the only console-owner getting in on the action. According to leaks and rumors, Microsoft will be offering one of their exclusive characters as a Fortnite skin, as well.

This leak isn’t as rock-solid as Kratos since it’s reportedly from a 4Chan user who claimed to predict some of the elements of Season 5.
We’ll have to wait and see with this one, but the crossover would reportedly include a Pelican glider, Lil’ Warthog emote, and Capture the Flag LTM.
For now, we’re comfortable saying that Kratos is 100% coming to Fortnite, and Master Chief could be a flip of a coin. We don’t have anything from official sources on the latter, and Sony/Epic Games crossovers are more common than collaborations with Microsoft.
